Guided hike across the wonderful Murgia plateau, a vast protected area home to over 150 rupestrian churches dating back to the 8th 0century, once inhabited by hermits and adorned with Byzantine frescoes. Enjoy the view of the Matera’s canyon while walking on the highest point of the ravine, following a pathway which lead you to a spectacular viewpoint of Matera Sassi district. Knowledgeable local guide will bring you from on side of the valley to the other, where a private transfer will drive you back to Matera station. This is one of the most exciting walks in the area, you do not need a special training, but a minimum level of fitness and good walking boots are reccommended.
